Moving Towards Family Solutions (MTFS)

Project Status
COMPLETED 100%

The Moving Towards Family Solutions (MTFS) project supports the transition of children from institutional care to safe, nurturing family-based care. The program strengthens families, equips caregivers, and builds systems that promote reunification, kinship care, and long-term child wellbeing.

Grounded in the internationally recognized principle that every child deserves to grow up in a family, MTFS works with biological families, kinship caregivers, and institutions to ensure children are not only placed in families, but that those families have the skills, support, and resources to provide lasting, nurturing care.

The program operates in partnership with Plateau State Government’s Social Welfare Department, local Child Protection Networks, and international NGO partners, ensuring a coordinated, systems-based approach to care reform.
